The Next Chapter
Assassin’s Creed fans have a reason to celebrate today. Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot announced that Assassin’s Creed III will be releasing on October 30 of this year. The company announced the release of a new Assassin’s Creed for 2012 last year, and now we have an actual date for when the game comes out.
The announcement was made during a financial earnings call. Guillemot called Assassin’s Creed III the “true next generation” for the popular franchise. The only other piece of information revealed regarding the game was that it has been in production for three years. With the Ezio Auditore story wrapped up, the new game will play host to a new main character, who will most likely be revealed in the coming months. The other big question that is probably on everyone’s mind is the setting of the game. Rumors have been circulating the Internet for a while with one of the most popular settings being the American Revolution. Did the colonists win their independence from the British Empire with the help of an Assassin, or will we see a completely unexpected backdrop for the next chapter of the series? Either way, fans should mark their calendars for the release of Assassin’s Creed III.
