Assassin’s Creed III May Be Set in Revolutionary America

A trusted CVG source has claimed that Assassin’s Creed III may well take place during the American Revolution.

The source, supposedly close to the development team, believes that a full announcement will come before 31 March.

Though tempting to dismiss rumour entirely out of hand, it is not unfounded. Proponents of the source’s claim point to hints in the latest game, Revelations, where the player is shown a globe hovering ominously over the United States. Revolutionary America was also an option in a user poll run by Ubisoft on the Assassin’s Creed website which asked for votes on a future game’s setting.

The poll also included Victorian Britain, medieval China, feudal Japan, the Spanish invasion of the Americas, ancient Egypt, the fall of the Roman Empire, and the Russian Revolution.

More information to come.
