Sunday Morning Cheer: Halo 2 Rap

Halo 2

Gettin’ Chiefy Wid It!

Halo 2 has something of a legacy. When it first appeared on our Xbox consoles back in 2004, the game’s critical reception was high, whereas ardent fans were initially up in arms about a number of things, be it the cliffhanger ending or the introduction of the Arbiter. In retrospect, that big ol’ bad elite was a pretty cool dude.

Nevertheless, the one thing that everyone agreed on was that Halo 2 provided the most addictive and entertaining multiplayer experience on Microsoft’s first home system. To say that Halo 2 was massive is something of an understatement. Even right up until Microsoft shut off the original Xbox Live servers back in 2010, many people around the world were still enjoying this exceptional game.

The following video is perhaps the best example of not only how insanely fun it was to play Halo 2, but also how much of a cultural impact it had on legions of gamers, who frequently referenced numerous aspects of the game across Xbox Live and the internet. Created by the FSR Clan (Futuristic Sex Robotz) back in the day, no doubt as a homage to just how awesome their team actually was, this rap is essentially a hilarious take on a typical Halo 2 player’s experience (by typical, I mean if you’re me and got gunned down repeatedly by the likes of these guys).

Not only that, but it’s got a pretty good beat, too.
