Bust a Cap
Like some other mobile devices – including the iPhone 4 -, 3G versions of the upcoming PlayStation Vita will cap downloads at 20MB, according to a spokesman at Sony Computer Entertainment.
The spokesman added that while this limitation will certainly be in place for the Vita’s December release in Japan and 2012 release in the West, there is a possibility that the cap will be extended in the future.
Alas, the 20MB limit means that users will almost definitely not be able to download games from the PlayStation Store. Downloading and installing important system updates on the fly, however, should not prove difficult. Larger downloads will require use of the Vita’s WiFi functionality.
